“By the River, Under the Sun”
There is a place in Sacramento where the golden light of California spills over an emerald green baseball field, and the roar of the crowd mingles with the whispering delta breeze from the Sacramento River. This is Sutter Health Park, home of the Rivercats.
There is plenty of parking at the stadium, making it very convenient for bringing big groups of friends and family. Show up early if you want a good spot or a chance at some of the first-entry prizes!
Not only is there a great game to watch, but there are all kinds of activities. There is an awesome family-friendly gated playground area for the kiddos with a replica Tower Bridge slide and splash pad. For the foodies, they also have plenty of food options, from pizza and tacos to burgers and hotdogs. Once you’ve had your fun around the park, you can always resume watching the game.
If you go during an evening game, the sun sets behind the left field, painting the sky orange and red and lighting up the Tower Bridge to a magnificent glowing gold. It makes for awesome views during the experience.
On certain days, the stadium has a fireworks show! As the game draws to a close, the air grows cooler, and they open the field to the fans, who pour out, tossing blankets as they look up in anticipation of the show. It’s a great way to end a baseball game!

- Stadium: This is a beautiful stadium and there’s truly no bad seat in the house.
- Views: The views of the Tower Bridge behind right field at sunset are epic. There are plenty of places to walk around and watch the game.
- Family Friendly: The Tower Bridge replica play structure is a family photo waiting to happen! Home Run Hill is great for a picnic-style setup. Pro-tip: you can bring your own camping chair for that section.
